The Drew Lab at Columbia University

I strive to have a diverse lab. We need to maintain multiple voices and perspectives in science and we have a safe place to science. Since I have the privilege of starting my lab I have have published on diversity issues facing students and teachers in STEM classrooms,  and my students and I have written about the role of gender diversity in professional societies. Additionally,  along with Jacquelyn Gill at U Maine I am spearheading an initiative to curate best practices to reduce sexual violence in the field.

I welcome potential students regardless of race, religion, gender identification, sexual orientation, age, or disability status. As long as you are a creative thinker who is respectful to others, you are welcome here.

If I can’t be underwater, I’d like to be at a baseball game.

That being said, if you are a Red Sox fan, you might have some trouble.
